Whether the result of sheer luck or actual honest to goodness planning, Sony has heard the pleas of the mooching masses and delivered yet another excellent update to the PlayStation Store.

For the third straight week there's something for almost everyone, led this week with the straight to digital download release of Fatal Inertia EX. For $29.99 gamers can get an enhanced version of the WipEout-esque racer originally released on the Xbox 360 by Koei, featuring high speeds and weapons-based combat designed around the principles of physics and magnetism. In other words, it's somewhat lifelike (other than the whole hovering vehicles thing) and sticky.

Another highlight of this week's additions is the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database. Absolutely free, the MGS4 Database brings confused Kojima fans info on all of the characters, weapons and plot elements that have made up the franchise, from the original Metal Gear all the way up to MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. This data is accessed from three different methods: encyclopedic, as a relationship map, and a timeline. Info related to MGS4 can also be blacked out, for those of you interested in boning up on your Metal Gear knowledge before diving into Kojima's latest.

Let's not overlook this week's PSP content as well, with both a downloadable version of Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure for $14.99 (which is a good value for this surprisingly fun action RPG), and a demo for Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror.
