THQ confirms what most of us already suspected.
An in oh-so-brief statement on their website, THQ today confirmed that the open-world Xbox 360 title Saints Row is indeed headed to the PlayStation 3.
“The Third Street Saints are gearing up to take over the PlayStation 3, as Volition’s Saints Row is scheduled for release on the console this Spring.
The game, which is currently available on Xbox 360, will feature character customisation, the freedom to progress through multiple storylines and side-missions, unique activities and a variety of single and multiplayer modes – supporting players online via the PlayStation® Network.”
As you might remember, we originally reported this story earlier this month, when a since pulled listing appeared on the websites for EB Games and Gamestop. Unfortunately, from the sound of things, Saints Row on the PS3 looks to be a straight port of the Xbox 360 version (that is to say, no mention of any extra content, such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is getting), but that does mean our original review of the Xbox 360 version should serve as an adequate representation of what to expect. As always, we will continue to follow this story, so be sure to check back at VGGEN often!
